I talked with Drew at 3:45 this morning. Although he woke me up, it was so nice and reassuring to hear his voice. Not sure if you heard, there was a suicide bombing Monday that killed four American soldiers. As you can imagine, I was a nervous wreck until I heard from him. He sounded good and he told me he got promoted to Corporal! He is now an NCO (non-commissioned officer). He seems very excited about it. However, with a promotion, there comes more responsibility. He's been fulfilling a team leader position since they started training for this deployment. As far as the responsibility, he said it will remain the same. I am so proud of him. He's doing great, getting his job done so he can come home really soon. I'll keep you updated.
