Our Actual Wedding Day 8-8-08

This is the day I married my best friend. He has truly blessed my life with so much happiness. I dreamed of this day, and even though we had an amazing, beautiful wedding on the beach in October, our vows were just as true in a courthouse as they were on the beach in Panama City at sunset on the most beautiful day. We had all of our family and friends at our October wedding. We decided to wed by ourselves in August. Due to Drew's active duty military orders quickly approaching, we knew we had to act fast in order to be prepared for what was ahead of us and to have a little time to enjoy being married. In reality, Drew has not been home longer than 7 days at a time since May 2008. Actually, we "honeymooned" in Nashville, TN on a military trip Drew was required to attend right after we left the courthouse on a beautiful Friday. Our love runs deeper than traditional wedding must have's. At the end of the day, we were just as married as anyone else. We were just lucky enough to have the wedding we had always dreamed of. It was the best 2 weekends of my life. What can I say, I am a lucky girl...I married my husband twice in less than 3 months. It will be a story my kids and grandchildren will speak of long after we are with God. I can't even begin to tell you how lucky I am. I know my situation is rather difficult right now, but I can promise not everyone could handle it. God knew what he was doing when he intervened in our lives to send Drew to war. Thankfully, I have the best family and friends anyone could ever ask for. We are both blessed with love, hope, dreams, laughter, and so much more. Maybe kids will be right around the corner. I can't begin to mention what a great father Drew will be. He is wonderful with children...mainly his little niece Sarah. They both adore each other. As a matter of fact, she asks more about him than me! ha! He's so worried she's going to forget him....he's made a memorable footstep in her pathway as a child and she will not forget him! Prayers are always appreciated! We are grateful for all the support we have!
