Hawaii!!!

My dream came true. I always wanted to visit Hawaii at some point in my life. Early in November, Barbara, Todd, and myself made a trip to Honolulu. It was the most beautiful place I had ever been. We stayed for 5 days and had a blast. We shopped, ate, did some site-seeing, ate some more, visited the most beautiful beaches, ate some more, and had the luxury of spending a few days with Trey before he shipped off overseas. Our adventure started out with a 10 hour flight out of Atlanta. By the way, Hawaii is 5 hours behind central time. We experienced about 2 hours of straight turbulence. Yea, that was fun! We were all exhausted when we finally arrived. However, after we got there, we got our rental car and checked into our resort. It was beautiful...right on the West shore of Honolulu. Then, we were on a 2 hour journey to find Trey at Scofield Barracks. Needless to say, by the time we found him, we were almost incompetent from complete exhaustion. It was great getting to see Trey in his element, where he had lived for a few months. He showed us around the base, we ate dinner, and went back to the hotel. Pearl Harbor was the most serene place I have ever stepped foot on. It is so quiet, you could hear the waves ripple across the water. It was truly heart-breaking knowing what those men and their families experienced on December 7, 1941. It leaves a mark on your heart that you can never forget. Later during our trip, we went to a true Hawaiian Luau. We had so much fun...the hula dancers, the food, and the drinks were amazing. I even made a headband out of flowers..real flowers. It was beautiful! All the while, I couldn't help but wish Drew was there. I love to travel but I want him to see all the places I have seen. I feel as though I am caught up in the daily routine of "Life" and nothing makes sense without him. I have promised him that we will go to Hawaii after he returns. If anyone ever has the chance to go, I highly reccomend it. I know I enjoyed every minute!
